I'M SURE THIS IS A COMBINATION OF JORDAN AND CHARLOTTE...ODDER AND ODDER!!
This portfolio is to show the process I took when designing my set for The Emporer Jones, while also showing other designs, images, etc. I drew inspiration from.
1. This is one of the first images that sparked my idea. I really liked the idea of the square and checker pattern, because I knew that I wanted my design to show a ‘distorted’ reality and have a repatative pattern, which I think this design shows.
2. From this set of 'Chess - The Musical' I started to feel really inspired and confident about doing a chess board pattern in my design. I also liked the marble look of the patterned floor.
3. This is another image showing a similar affect I would like from the chess board pattern in my palacfor scene 1 in my design.
4. From this image I decided that I would have crumbled leaves to have in the forest in my design (scenes 2 - 7). I liked the way that they looked - especially the look of brown, crunchy leaves, they would make a really cool sound as well.
5. This is another image showing how I want my forest floor to look like - The texture and look of the floor/steps in this picture is really similar to what I want.
6.
7. This is my set about half way through the semester. At this point there were definitely things I wanted to change, but overall I was now feeling really confident about my design ideas.
8. This image just shows how I look my palace to look, with the chess board pattern, but also the really clean and royal look of it. Instead of the pillars up the walls however, I will have my giant knight chess pieces.
9. I found this throne after I had already put one on my set, but once I found this picture I decided to do a new throne. I really liked the velvet on this throne, and the high back, it went really well with what my palace design was.
10. This is my set a fwe weeks from finsihin. At this stage there was still a few things to tidy up and change, but overall at this stage it had all come together. From this picture you can see elements of other designs (shown above) that inspired ideas in my design.
